no more sleeps...

well folks...did you miss me...???

wow...what an amazing few weeks it's been since my last post...

we had an amazing week of celebrations here in fayetteville, arkansas in the run up to our wedding...my parents arrived the weekend before our wedding, followed by my big sister and my wee bro 2 days later...then later in the week we were joined by friends from various counties across ireland, we had someone from every province...plus friends from england, scotland and australia...

not too mention all our fantastic friends and family from sea to shining sea here in the states...

we had a fantastic rehearsal, and in lieu of a traditional rehearsal dinner, together with our families we hosted a night of 'craic agus ceol' in joanna's parents house...we hired a local irish trad band to play for us, and my sister (tin whistle), brother (bodhran) and myself (piano accordion) gathered ourselves and rose to the occasion to rattle out a few jigs and polkas...

i have a wee video snippet to come later this week...

our wedding day was everything we could have wanted and more...we both stayed cool, calm and collected...maybe a bit too cool, calm and collected in my case...i managed to faint twice during the ceremony...

she took my breath away...literally...

regardless, once i got my jacket off and got a bit cooler we were good to go, we had a beautiful ceremony and walked out of the church to 'lord of the dance', which set the tone for a fantastic drinks and dinner reception...

we danced our first dance to florence and the machines version of 'you've got the love' which was covered wonderfully by our wedding band...they even learnt 'the galway girl' at our request which was a sure fire winner at getting people on the dancefloor...

a great day, a great night...great memories which will last a lifetime...

we spent 6 days on our honeymoon in seaside, florida...a gem of a town...i have never seen such beautiful white sandy beaches and turquoise waters...and the architecture and picture postcard setting of the town was amazing...

coming back to work and a 35 minute commute was tough after a week of 4 minute bicycle trips to the beach...

so now, we're settled in our new house...we moved in on friday night with a mattress and 2 gallons of paint, saturday flit - short sit and all that... we spent friday night painting our living room, had help from friends and family on saturday to complete the move and then sunday and this evening we unpacked our lives and are somewhat organised enough to get ourseleves to work for the week, and prepare our lunches and evening meals...

bit by bit we'll get there soon enough...

so custardbydesign followers...from myself and 'mc wife'...(we refer to each other as 'mc wife' and 'mc husband' now)...thanks a million for all your good luck messages both here on the blog and via facebook and twitter...you've been great friends to me here in blogville...

i'll leave you with a wee pic of ourselves...and i think maybe this week i'll share more snippets from our wedding and the surrounding events before i jump back into the design posts next week...
